Congratulations! You have just taken an important first step toward ensuring not only a higher SAT score but a more relaxing and enjoyable SAT experience overall.
Study after study has concluded that the SAT is a highly coachable test, a lot like the game of bowling: that is, there are a few people who can score nearly perfect every time, out of natural ability, but most of us have a set range – short of perfect – where we tend to land; however, with a little help from others – particularly from those who have studied the game – we can improve our performance significantly.
That's where we come in. We've been studying the SAT for more than 20 years, taking tests, watching others take tests, and formulating the best ways to take tests. We know and understand the anatomy of the SAT – that is, what parts make it up and how those parts work together to challenge a person's skill and understanding on many different levels. We have incorporated these observations and experiences in designing a prep program that focuses on "transferable skills," ones which empower the test taker to solve classes of problems rather than focus on specific or individual instances. In addition, our goals include helping students develop a standardized test perspective – one which appreciates, for example, the puzzle-like nature of questions, the inter-relatedness of concepts, the fact that "true" does not necessarily mean "correct," or that the process of elimination should really be used only as a last resort.
To share what we've learned about the SAT, we offer a variety of SAT prep courses designed to match a variety of student needs. There's an S.O.S. (Save Our Scores) last minute prep, Math Only, Reading/Writing/Language Only, Combined Math/Reading/Writing/Language, Comprehensive (includes Extemporaneous Essay), and even a Comprehensive Saturdays-Only course. These are described in more detail below. Each course has limited enrollment (up to 5 participants) and combines lecture, guided practice and computer assisted testing with score projection. Click on any of the programs below to see dates and times courses are running. Course tuition includes all books and other materials.
