Good grades don't just happen – but poor grades do. And no wonder! Essentially, you start every course with an A, but then things happen: things like homework assignments, quizzes, tests, projects, and so forth, all of which can whittle away at your grade or decimate it all at once. Holding on to your A's takes, among other things, academic awareness, attention to detail, proactive thinking, responsible decision-making and conscientious planning. In short, to "manage and protect" your grades you need to exercise a whole range of executive skills on a daily basis.
That's why we offer personalized mentorships. A mentor functions sort of like an advisor, instructor and tutor all rolled into one. In this program your assigned mentor meets with you periodically to review your past tests, homework assignments, essays, special projects, etc., in order to identify potential problem areas and, if necessary, fashion a plan of action. Your mentor will also provide tutoring when you need it and be a standing resource for answering questions about course concepts, test-prep strategies, essays, research topics, and more. At a minimum, participants in this program receive:
